UTIL Student Candace Brakewood named a 2013 ARCS Scholar

UTIL graduate student Candace Brakewood was recently named a 2013 ARCS Scholar. The ARCS Foundation advances science and technology in the United States by providing financial awards to academically outstanding US Citizens studying to complete degrees in science, engineering, and medical research. On November 20, the Atlanta Chapter of ARCS presented 12 students from Georgia Tech with ARCS scholarships. Brakewood received the $7,500 Drummond Award for her work on OneBusAway, a mobile app that is designed to give commuters real-time information on their transit options. This is her second year in a row being named an ARCS scholar.
UTIL would like to congratulate Candace on receiving this honor!
